It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ritsuko Tavares of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bunichi Oshima and Shigeno Oshima; and her siblings, Takato Oshima, Hiroto Oshima, Tomiko Miyazaki and Yasuko Kawajiri.
She is survived by: her husband Frank Tavares; her children, Nicholas Tavares (Cathy) of Southampton, MA. and Frances Tavares Koper (John) of Scituate, MA.; her grandchildren, Melissa Tavares McDonald (Kevin) of West Springfield and Ben Koper of Scituate; her great grandchild Wesley McDonald; and her siblings, Mitsonobo Oshima, Tomoko Matsuo and Sumiko Higuchi.
