It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Omer H. Dumais of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dumais and Rosealma Dumais (Provost); his significant other Jeanne M. Dumais (Lafleur); his siblings, Eugene Dumais, Raymond Dumais, Edna Weston (Bob) and Theresa Bockhaus (Arthur); and his siblings-in-law, Paul Lafleur (Alice), Russell Lafleur (Doris), Roger A. Lafleur, Sr. (Jeanne) and Margie Lafleur.
He is survived by: his children, Omer H. Dumais, Jr. (Pamela) of Hudson, FL, David A. Dumais (Elaine) of Chicopee, Dennis H. Dumais of Chicopee, Linda J. Dumais of Chicopee, Cindy J. Dumais-Holubowich (Mark Holubowich) of Granby and Joseph A. Dumais (Karen) of Granby; his grandchildren, Denise, Daniel, Micky, Donald, Kelly, Tony, Dylan, Jessica, Carly, Taylor and Brandie; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Hadleigh, Walker, McKenzie, Owen, Hannah and Hailey; and his brother-in-law Harvey Lafleur of Chicopee. He is also survived by his many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Because of Omer's limitless love of children and his selfless generosity, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
