He was predeceased by: his parents, Max S. Giera and Alberta M. Giera (Gosselin). He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Giera (Wadlegger); his son Matthew Samuel Giera of Chicopee; his stepdaughter Diane M. Edwards of Westerly, RI; his grandson Quinn Edwards of Westerly, RI; his sister Suzanne M. Devaney (Michael) of Scottsdale, AZ; his siblings-in-law, Joanne Wadlegger of Southampton, Kathleen Wadlegger of Longmeadow and Jeffrey Wadlegger of Chicopee; his niece Sara Jane Pluta of Scottsdale, AZ; and his nephew Sam F. Pluta (Sky Macklay) of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
