She was predeceased by: her parents, Atanacio Maldonado and Emelia Velazquez; her son Juan "Polaco" Cruz; and her sister Ana Velazquez. She is survived by: her partner Santos Romero of Chicopee; and her children, Miguel A. Cruz (Nancy) of Springfield, Sonia D. Cruz-Rivera (Reinaldo Rivera Jr) of Springfield, Ermelinda Cruz of Springfield, Norma I. Cruz of Springfield and Evelyn Cruz-Cabrera (Rolando) of Chicopee. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
