We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2023, at the age of 89, Joseph S. Prairie (Chicopee, Massachusetts), born in Holyoke, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Armand Prairie and Eveline Prairie (Surprenant); his siblings, Armand "Skip" Prairie and Jean Niznik-Pierro; and his daughter-in-law Sandra Prairie.
He is survived by: his children, Roland Prairie of Holyoke, Adele "Addie" Prairie of Reading and Lisa Smith (Roger) of Manchester, CT; his sisters, Eleanor Putnam and Sandra Blake; his grandchildren, Justin Prairie (Gina Callahan), Tamara Ribeiro (Michael), Stacey Pryor (Brian) and Margaret Smith; and his great grandchildren, Madeleine, Theodore, Delia Prairie and Mary Pryor. He is also survived by many family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or to the Mont Marie Activity Fund, 36 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
