It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Rivest (Chicopee, Massachusetts), born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Rivest and Marguerite Rivest (Dupuis); and his siblings, Robert Rivest Jr. and Julie Prince. He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Ishler (William) of Chicopee; and his siblings, Joseph Rivest (Mary) of Southampton and Anne Marie Rivest (Joseph Giard) of Westhampton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home (280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA 01013). A prayer was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baystate Children's Hospital, 759 Chestnut St, 4th Fl, Springfield, MA 01199.
