He was predeceased by: his parents, John Seppala and Ida Seppala (Ahola); his wife Cecile D. (Bruneau); his former spouse Shirley Mae Kozash; and his brother John A. Seppala.

He is survived by: his children, Richard A. Seppala (Nancy) of Ashburn, VA, Linda Stout of Springfield and Barbara Amaio (Joseph) of Wethersfield, CT; and his grandchildren, Denise Seppala, Christopher Seppala (Ashley), Lindsay Savardi (Sean), Erik Seppala (Jessica), Tyler Reisinger (Lindsey), Nicole Tavares (Tony), Michelle Morro, Donald Stout, Jr., Celena Ianuzzi (Dominic), Christopher Amaio, Jennifer Granger (Richard), Joseph Amaio and Derrick Amaio (Margaret). He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
