It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gertrude A. (Stuiber) Durant of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Friedrich Stuiber and Emilie Stuiber (Bayer); her husband Leroy J. Durant; and her siblings, Anschie Dirschl and Fritz Stuiber.
She is survived by: her children, Robert L. Durant of Chicopee and Heidi D. Parker (Wayne) of West Springfield; her granddaughter Kara E. Barnes-Parker of Westfield; her siblings, Emmie Stuiber of Nuremberg, Germany and Hans Stuiber (Petra) of Regenstauf, Germany; and her sister-in-law Hilda Stuiber of Nuremberg, Germany. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or the Saint Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
