He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph August Silva; his son Kenneth Edward Silva; and his siblings, Alphonse "Gabby", Albert Silva, Ceasar Silva and Constance Gonsalves.

He is survived by: his parent Mary Louise Silva (Sofrina); his wife Dorothy M. Guilbeau Silva (Bourque); his daughter Brenda M. Lamitie (Anthony) of Rockwood, TN; his grandchildren, Nicole M. Menard (Gregory), Chantal L. Colon (Joseph) and Kenneth J. Lemoine (Cassie Dyer); his great grandchildren, Gavin Menard and Maxton Menard; his stepchildren, Lisa A. Foley of Chicopee and James R. Guilbeau of Chicopee; his stepgrandchildren, Michael Foley, Lauren Foley, Gregory Guilbeau and Carley Guilbeau; and his siblings, Chico, James and Gina. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, friends.

“Eddie was my childhood friend whom I met when I spent summers with my Aunt Helen Benoit who lived next door to the Silva family. Eddie was a year older than I and and a tough kid who was respected by the other kids in the neighborhood. He and I developed a very close friendship which lasted a lifetime. When Eddie learned that I planned to move to Hawaii in 1967, he drove from Ludlow to Hanover, Mass. where I lived. We reminisced , had lunch and sadly said our last farewell. RIP my friend.”
