He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar G. Chagnon Sr. and Doris Mary Rose Chagnon (LeClair); and his sister Dianne Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Mary I. Chagnon (Houle) of Chicopee; his sons, Jeffrey Chagnon (Jenn Kowal) of Chicopee, Daniel Chagnon (Nancy) of South Hadley and Matthew Chagnon of Chicopee; his siblings, Alfred Chagnon of Northampton, Alice Morin (Mike) and Lea Jones (Chris Jones) of Chicopee; his grandchildren, Joseph Chagnon (Alycia Baker), Jeremy Chagnon (Janiah), Amanda Santerre (Brendan Ryan), Jack Chagnon, Kaylin Chagnon, Landon Chagnon, Celia Chagnon, Jolie Chagnon and Stephen O'Brien; and his great grandchildren, Jett and Ceah Chagnon.
