He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvaro Fernandes and Gertrude Fernandes (Freitas); and his siblings, Ana Roxo, Antonio and Bento Fernandes.

He is survived by: his wife Constance "Connie"; his children, Paula Ruyffelaert (Michael) and George Fernandes (Annastasia); his grandchildren, David, Matthew, Samantha Ruyffelaert, Gabrielle, Daniel, Marissa and Lauren Fernandes; his great grandchild Brooklyn Morales; his sister Ermelinda Joao; his sisters-in-law, Libby and Rosa Fernandes; and also Joe Fernandes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
