With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvin E. Whitmore Jr. of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 30, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin E. Whitmore and Ottimis B. Whitmore (Jones); his daughters, Deborah R. Jimenez (Angel) and Jo Ann Whitmore; and his sister Carolyn F. Taylor (Ronald K. Taylor).
He is survived by: his wife Lu Whitmore of Chicopee; his children, Alvin E. Whitmore III (Jacqueline) of Orlando, FL, Carolyn F. Whitmore (Brian Lambert), Natalie J. Hunt (David) and Scott D. Coleman of Worcester, MA; his grandson Edwin J. Francis II; his children, Scotty L. Coleman, Alessia S. Jimenez, Riane K. Hunt and Ian E. Hunt; his great grandchildren, Avarey R. Woods and Ezra E. Coleman; and his siblings, Stephanie Whitmore, Tracey Whitmore of Milwaukee, WI and Martin Whitmore (Laura) of Madison, WI..
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alden Street Baptist Church (649 State St, Springfield, MA 01109). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 12:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alvin's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place.
