He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald B. Howlett and Frances Howlett (Flynn); his children, Kate DeTomas and Brian Howlett; his sister Karen Howlett; and his close friend Betty Ogden.

He is survived by: his grandsons, Ryan Howlett, Andrew DeTomas and Jacob DeTomas; and his former wife Carolyn Price (Robert).

Memorial contributions in Rich's memory may be made to the Howlett Scholarship Fund at Cathedral High School.
