He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Cheryl Weinstein (Shinbaum); his children, Rachel Shamah (Douglas) and Stacey Tavel (Eric); his grandchildren, Daniel, Molly Shamah, Maddy, Alex, Sydney and Amelia Tavel; his parents, Miriam Weinstein (Rubin) and Louis Weinstein; his parents-in-law, Marian and Sidney Shinbaum; and his siblings, Karen (Lewis Edgers), Bruce (Sherrie Weinstein), Richard (Nancy Shinbaum) and Kenny (Fern Shinbaum).
