He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emery A. Emerson and Ruth Mae Derosia Emerson; his wife Christine B. Lester; his children, Amy B. Emerson-Inhelder and Adam B. Emerson (Heather) of Cheshire; his grandchildren, Chloe, Wesley and Avery; his siblings-in-law, Cheryl, Joseph Adamski, Maureen and Bruce Lester of Dalton; his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Brian, Sarah, Daniel and Colleen; his great-nieces, Bella and Madison; his great-nephew Jonathon; his son Alex B. Emerson; and his brother Alvah R. Emerson. He was also cherished by several cousins and many lifelong friends.
