He was predeceased by: his wife Mary J. (Kaminska); and his parents, Joseph Szarek and Mary Szarek (Urbanek). He is survived by: his sons, Gerard Szarek of Andover and Mark Szarek of Groveland; his siblings, Genevieve Murray and Charles Szarek; and his grandchildren, Matthew Szarek, Angela Szarek, Karl Szarek, Abigail Szarek and Peter Szarek.
