He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Patricia Murphy-Marsters (Gurkin); his husband William; his child Erin Kate Murphy of Chelsea; and his siblings, Debra Murphy (Beverly Corwin) of Beverly, Patricia Blais (Jack) of Holliston, Steven Murphy (Joy) of Plymouth and James Murphy. He was also cherished by 6 nieces and 1 nephew.
