He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Mendalka and Helen S. Slotkowski (Shostek-Mendalka); his stepfather Joseph Slotkowski; his son William (Billy); his sister Helen Troisi; and his stepsiblings, Edward Carpovich and Eleanor Slotkowski.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline; his children, John and Karen; his grandchildren, Ingrid, Caroline, Philip Hoerrner and Kaitlin Mendalka; and his sister Blanche Miller of Chelsea. He is also survived by his mother and sisters.
