He was predeceased by: his father William C. Klessens; and his brother William Klessens. He is survived by: his spouse Jean (Ramsey); his mother Margaret Klessens (Tiernan) of Somerville; his daughters, Amanda Waters (Robbie) of Rockland and Kate Szablak (Mike) of North Andover; his grandchildren, Jacob and Natalie Szablak; his brother Neil Klessens (Donna) of Beverly; his nephews, Christopher Klessens and Michael Klessens of Beverly; and his sister Sally Klessens of Somerville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Glioblastoma Foundation (glioblastomafoundation.org).
