She was predeceased by: her parents, Glennwood Smith and Ina Aaltonen Smith; and her daughter Christina Barzyk. She is survived by: her husband Frederick F. Barzyk; her children, Robert Barzyk of New York and Allison Gould of Townsend; and her grandchildren, Natalie Barzyk of Chicago, Alexander and Aaron Gould of Townsend.
Memorial donations may be made in Ruth's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
