He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna (Cassidy) and Newton Akashian, Sr.; his former wife Charlotte A. Akashian (Legenc); and his brother-in-law Leon Huttig. He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Akashian (Stetson); his children, Dawna Akashian (Sean Stanek) of Lowell, Kimberley Preston (Edmund) of Dracut and Newton Robert Akashian, III (Stef Yath) of Chester, NH; his grandchildren, Kelly Preston of Lowell, Rachel Preston (Timothy Bell) of Manchester, NH, Olivia Preston of Dracut, Hailey Akashian of New Jersey, Jacob Akashian of Chester, NH and Ryan Stanek of Lowell; his siblings, Bruce Akashian (Kathleen) of Lowell and Barbara Huttig of Woburn; his nephews, Brian and Brendan Akashian; his niece Kerry Akashian; his friends, Ed and Judy Gendreau; and his pets, Daisy and Schnitzel. He is also survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
