He is survived by: his wife Maura Shield (Cahalane); his children, William and Mariah Shield of Chelmsford; his father Philip Shield of Burlington; his brothers, Mark Shield (Karen) of Burlington and Brian Shield (Brenda) of Andover; his parents-in-law, Bill and Mary Lou Cahalane; his sister-in-law Noreen Cahalane of West Harwich; and his nieces and nephews, Michael, Stephen, Ryan, Jennifer and Jessica.
