He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Tomas Luis and Maria Jose Luis (Marques); and his sister Berta Garcia. He is survived by: his wife Ana Luis (Damaśo); and his siblings, Helena Castanha of Montreal, Luis Marques (Liberia) of Toronto, Fernanda Santos (Manuel Antonio) of Bristol, R. I, Antonio Luis of Fall River, Ana Marques of Fall River and Rosa Carreiro (Luis) of Fall River. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
