He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hayes and Lillian Hayes (Rice); and his siblings, Franny Christello and Joseph Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen M. "Kathy" Hayes (Hitchcock); his children, William M. Hayes, Jr. (Comfort) of Worcester and Boston Fire Dept; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lambert, Jessica Lambert, Jordan Lambert, Bella Hayes, Lola Hayes, Willa Hayes and Lucky Hayes; and his siblings, Midge Manning, Sandra O'Leary, Barbara Martin, Janice Bowers, Marilyn Hayes, Roberta Sullivan, Edna Hayes and Kathy Hayes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
