He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Thorne and Edith Thorne; and his siblings, Ralph Thorne, Frank Thorne, Barbara Thorne and Mildred Scoursi.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Thorne (Flavin) of Carver; his children, Richard Thorne (Ricky), Laurie Thorne and John Thorne of Carver, MA; his granddaughter Amber Smith of Carver, MA; and his brother Kenneth Thorne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
