He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Cairns and Marjorie J. Cairns (Decelle); and his siblings, Catherine M. Panarello and John L. Cairns, Jr.. He is survived by: his sister Juliann Cairns Pywell (Jeffrey Pywell); and his nephew John M. Pywell of Newbury Park, Calif..
