He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Amado and Mary Amado (Rogers); his son Manuel A. Amado Jr.; and his brothers, Raymond, Antonio, Ronald, Albert, Robert and Donald Amado.

He is survived by: his wife Sonya Amado (Vieira); his son Tony Amado (Amalia) of Sagamore; his grandchildren, Ramielle and Alec Amado; and his siblings, Richard Amado (Gail) of Stockton, Dean Amado (Maureen) of Duxbury, Alice Robinson (Clyde) of Fresno, Marlene Harrison of Raynham and Donna Hopson (William) of Lawrenceville, Georgia..
