He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Diana Fontaine (Wood); his children, Cheryl Terranova (Joe) of Halifax, Marjorie Coffey (Joe) of Rockland, Terri Politano (Jim) of Bridgewater and Frederick Fontaine III (Michelle) of Rehoboth; his stepdaughter Lisa Heroux (Chris) of Maine; and his parents, Frederick and Evelyn Fontaine, Sr. (McPhee). He was also cherished by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
