He was loved and cherished by many people including: his cousin John Orfao; his wife Ezaura Silva (Gouveia); his son Joseph Silva Jr. (Joanne) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Dominique Silva of Wilmington and Joseph Silva III of Wilmington; and his siblings, Maria Jose Barbeito of Madeira, Portugal, Fernanda Dos Ramos Pereira of Venezuela, Alfred and John Silva.
