He was predeceased by: his brothers, John R. Doyle and Paul J. Doyle; his brother-in-law William Hyland, Jr.; his niece Kimberly Quigley; and his parents, Edward Doyle and Mary Doyle (Friel).

He is survived by: his wife Marie Doyle (Hyland); his children, Kerry Doyle Stearns (John Stearns) and Tim Doyle (Kate Doyle); his siblings-in-law, Nancy, Christopher Jennison, Joyce Hyland and Valerie Doyle; and his nieces and nephews, Julie Polmonari, Kristin Hurley, William Hyland III, Robert Hyland, Ian Doyle and Annika Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ted's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
