He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Marsha B. Freed; his wife Elizabeth W Geist; his children, Jennifer Freed (Brian Dalton), Joshua Freed and Steven Freed (Emily Maple); his stepsons, David Geist (Kristina), Mark Geist and Daniel Geist (Erica); his grandchildren, Sophie, Jake, Anya, Maggie, Mia, Eli, Matty, Greta, Arthur and Eleanor; his brother Howard Freed (Rachel Michaud); and his siblings-in-law, Gail Brown and Jules Lynn (Myriam). He was also cherished by his family as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Temple Shalom (175 Temple St, West Newton, MA 02465). A burial was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Sharon Memorial Park (40 Dedham St, Sharon, MA 02067).
Mike had an exceptional record of leadership in professional organizations nationally, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology.
