He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Kaplan and Goldie Kaplan. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Kaplan (Rosenbaum); his siblings, Robert Kaplan (Michele) and Carol Battista (Tony); and his siblings-in-law, Donna Lupatkin (Richard) and Bruce (Melanie). He is also survived by his family, friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM and from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A shiva was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Home of Ellen and Joel Kaplan.
