Rosie Choi wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Tay, Mia and family: I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a remarkable woman who had the courage to stand up for her beliefs. I recall that someone at Central Texas College complained to the President about your mom not being flexible. He responded to the effect that he admired her integrity and wished she was on his staff. As a dear friend, she was always there to share my laughter, tears, joy and sadness. Above all, she was a wonderful mother and dearly loved you all.”
