He is survived by: his sisters, Katharine, Suzanne and Gertrude; his wife Jane; his daughters, Julia, Barbara and Margaret; his sons-in-law, James Meigs, Douglas Borchard and Scott Scharer; and his grandchildren, Sam (Erin), Ramsey (Erin), Ben, Stoddard, Isabel, Miles, William and Peter.
