Janet Schwartz wrote a sympathy message

“Eve enriched my life as a teacher, a mother, and a citizen of the world. She worked with me in Holocaust education, but we grew to be friends, and she taught my children at Sunday school. Seeing her, meeting her, laughing with her, learning from her elevated my spirit. I have not seen her in a while, yet I have thought of her so many times. To say she was special does not even begin to touch who she really was. My condolences to you. She was and continues to be a blessing in my life.”

Carol Schulz wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Stephen, Heidi and David, For 50 years, your mother has enriched my life in so many ways. I loved teaching workshops with her and her wonderful teacher friends. I was so proud she chose me to write the Daily Life books with her. (Did you know the 1st edition was Greenwood Press's most popular book?) She was a joy to work with! Eve was brilliant, wise, loving, energetic, kind, and fun. She gave so much of herself to others. I miss her very much. Love, Carol Schulz”

Demie Stathoplos wrote a sympathy message

“Mrs. Soumerai was a beloved teacher of mine in West Hartford CT. She was a tremendously creative and compassionate teacher. She directed a tribute to George Gershwin which we were able to take to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. The bonds that she facilitated among the students who were in those tributes have resulted in lifelong friendships. She touched so many of us at a formative time in our lives. May her memory be a blessing.”
