He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Yancey (Springer) and Raymond E. Yancey, Sr.; and his sister Ramona Frazier. He is survived by: his wife Vanessa; his children, Christine (Gregory), Jason and Brandon (Natay); his grandchildren, Dedra, Daryl (Kiara), Jania, Jayah, Jeremiah, Corde, Aaron and Ava; his great grandchildren, Jayden, Sa'Rai, Jaleel, Jaylen, Daryl III, Kadence, Kaden, Dawn, Kimora and Kimayah; his sister Pamela; and his nieces, Alicia and Pammi Rae.
