He was predeceased by: his parents, Nativida Soline Fortune and Frederic Butler. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Mompoint Butler; his daughter Valerie Butler; and his siblings, Yvon Mondesir, Jean Claude Butler, Musset "Seraphin" Butler, Marie Anne Gessey Mondesir and Leslie Butler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
