He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ultima Descartes and Marie Anne Precina Descartes (Belotte); his sisters, Marie Yves Descartes (Haiti), Marie Ertha Descartes (Haiti) and Marie Ange Descartes (Canada); and his mother-in-law Clermelie Decamp.
He is survived by: his wife Suzette Descartes (Decamp); and his children, Jessica Descartes, Joseph O. Descartes, Jonathan Descartes and Janice C. Descartes.
