He was predeceased by: his daughter Ashley L. Higgins; his parents, John Higgins and Jean Higgins (Simpson); his stepmother Bonnie Titus Higgins; his brother Richard; and his sibling-in-law Jackie Hinkle.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Murphy; his children, Justin J. Higgins of Brockton, Joseph M. Higgins of Brockton and Jenna L. Higgins of Abington; his grandson Justin J. Higgins, Jr.; his brothers, John Higgins of Taunton and Michael Higgins; his mother-in-law Frances Meadows of Stoughton; and his siblings-in-law, Patrick Murphy of Indiana, Cleveland Chesson of Florida, Wayne Chesson of North Carolina and Terri Miller of North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
