He was predeceased by: his parents, Murphy Stanfield and Viola Phoenix Stanfield; and his sons, Edwin Phoenix Jr. and Edward Phoenix. He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Gary, Anita Courtney, Cynthia Phoenix-Haye and Elizabeth King. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
