She was predeceased by: her husband Harold K. McAfee; and her parents, Edwin Ferguson and Ella Ferguson (Sabean). She is survived by: her grandchildren, David of Maine, Lyn, James and Jill of Florida; and her nieces and nephews, Joyce Pribusauskas (Bob) of Raynham, Paul McAfee (Patty) of Brockton, Pamela McAfee of New Hampshire, Roberta Benoit (Michael) of New Hampshire, Janet McAfee of California, Wayne McAfee (Maria) of California and Scott McAfee (Lisa) of California.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home (280 Bedford St, Lakeville, MA 02347).

“Claire was my father Walter Dunbar’s first cousin. She and my mom Jessie Dunbar always looked forward to their visits each summer at the Cape. They were born in the same year just weeks apart. I have fond memories even recently of our visits…going out to dinner, doing puzzles and playing Skipbo. She was a wealth of knowledge. Mom passed last year just shy of her 101st birthday. . I had hoped to visit Claire next week when we arrive at the Cape. I am going ti miss her.”
