He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur R. Madan and Esther L. Madan (Christmann); and his sister Elizabeth Chaplain. He is survived by: his wife Jo-Ann M. Madan (Powers); his children, Michael W. Madan (Jean) of Mansfield, James J. Madan of Uxbridge and Kerry A. Matta (John) of West Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Shawn Madan (Becky), Liam Madan, Declan Madan, Caitlin Madan, Abby Matta and Maeve Matta; and his siblings, Roy Madan of Harrisville, RI and Martha Hensley of Carver. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
