He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Gavin and Martin Gavin of Boston; his wife Dotty Gavin (Brassil) of Hanson; and his siblings-in-law, Peggy, Jack Brassil (Maryilyn), James Brassil (Sandra McKay), Mary Luzzo (Vincent), Rita, Maureen Brassil, Paul Brassil and Richard Brassil.
He is survived by: his child Trish; his significant other Betty Cadigan of Bridgewater; his children, Patricia Martin (Larry) of Hanover, Michelle Gavin of Norwell, Thomas Gavin and James Gavin (Bethany) of Norwell; his grandchildren, Tyler, Brooke Martin of Hanover, Katherine, Thomas and Matthew Gavin of Norwell; his brother Eddie Gavin (late Marion) of Hanson; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Brassil (Pam), Paul Cameron, Robert Brassil (Lillian), Fred Brassi (Linda), Joseph Brassil (Deirdre), William Brassil (Katherine) and Joseph Carroll. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
