He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McDermott (Mac) and Susan McDermott; his brother-in-law Joseph; and his nephew Sean O'Keefe. He is survived by: his wife Maryellen (Sheehan); his children, Christopher McDermott (Rachael) of Pembroke, Laura McDermott of Abington and Kathleen McDermott Dadekian of Braintree; his brother William McDermott of Hull; his siblings-in-law, Margaret, Bob O'Keefe of Maine and Christine Sheehan of Braintree; and his nieces and nephews, Katy Swanson Turner, Joseph Sheehan, Elizabeth Sheehan-Castro, Neil O'Keefe, Mark Sheehan and Matthew Sheehan.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - South (809 Main St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A Mass was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Clare's Church (1244 Liberty St, Braintree, MA 02184). A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (245 North St, Randolph, MA 02368).
