He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Farrell and Susan Farrell; his wife Catherine T. "Kay" Farrell (Flynn); his brother Raymond Farrell; and his granddaughter Jennifer Farrell.
He is survived by: his children, Paul F. Farrell (Deborah) of Foxborough, Robert M. Farrell of Canton, Susan D. Saunders (Alan) of Worcester, Richard J. Farrell (Mary Ann) of Dedham, David P. Farrell of Chelmsford and Marie C. Fahey (Daniel) of Abington; his grandchildren, Meaghan O'Neil, Samantha Farrell, Julie Figueroa, Molly Farrell, Jacquelyn Farrell, Brian Farrell, Melissa Farrell, Kathryn Farrell, Lauren Farrell and Dianna Fahey; and his great grandchildren, James O'Neil and Charlotte O'Neil. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
