He was predeceased by: his wife Mary; his children, Nancy Matheney and Richard Hobart; and his siblings, Paula Rettig and Edward Hobart (Chet).

He is survived by: his grandson Joseph Matheney; his sisters, Sister Maura Hobart, D. C. of Albany and JoAnne Petrillo of Hanson, MA; his nephew Geoffery Hobart; his friend Louie Richardi; and his caregiver Alex. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.
