He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louis J. H. and Katherine I. Burkhardt (Kozlicak); his wife Linda L. Burkhardt (Carson); his sons, Louis "Chip" Burkhardt, III (Sonya) and David Burkhardt; his brother John W. Burkhardt Sr.; his grandchildren, Zackary, Noah and Alexina; his nieces, Colleen Burkhardt (Paul Harrington), Heidi Verock (John) and Heather Burkhardt; and his great-nieces, Shannon Cote and Ashley Stephen.
