He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Long Gould; his granddaughters, Kristen and Emily; and his parents, Edward Long and Marion Long (Kehoe).
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his son James Jr.; his grandchildren, Justin and Jillian; his great grandchild Avyana; and his siblings, Paul, Kathleen LaPerle, France Milionis and Arlene Long. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
