He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mildred Schwartz and Sumner Wolk; his sons, Elias Wheeler and Ross Wheeler of Portsmouth; his sister Marlene Schulman; his sister-in-law Nancy Fuller of Lexington; and his nephews, Matthew Schulman of Weston and Aaron Hauptman, MD of Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Massachusetts Eye and Ear for Age-Related Dry .
