She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Smith and Irene Smith (Hughes); her husband Edward Swales; and her siblings, Brian Smith, Maureen Kane and Robert Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Dooher (Swales), Dr. Colin Swales (Heather), Brandon Swales (Katie) and Kathleen I. Swales; her grandchildren, Graham, Poppy, Hunter, Bowden, Lara, Jack, Ryan and Evan; and her siblings, Irene Mahan, Thomas Smith, William Smith, Claire Smith, Dorothea Jacobs and Kevin Smith. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
